UNICEF aims at early childhood development projects this year, the new projects are now under reviews. Dr Madeeha bint Ahmed al Shibaniyah, Education Minister met at the General Diwan of the Education Ministry yesterday with Laila Gad, Representative of the UNICEF Office in the Sultanate in the presence of Suad bin Salim al Balushi, Under-Secretary of the Education Ministry for Educational Planning and Human Resources Development and a number of directors general in the ministry.
The meeting touched on discussing the joint co-operation plan between the Education Ministry and the UNICEF for this year related to early childhood development projects, childhood protection and data and information management as a proposal for the education projects with the organization was reviewed to be included within the organization’s plan.
The meeting discussed the most important projects being implemented by the UNICEF with the ministry which have reached advanced stages, such as the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children tests and the project of enhancing the student’s continuation in learning, in addition to the Child-Friendly School (CFS) project.
